Main Street Toccoa is proud to partner with Georgia Public Broadcasting for a free preview screening of Ken Burns' Country Music documentary during the July 20, 2019 Ida Cox concert by Edgar Loudermilk Band featuring Jeff Autry.
Guests will enjoy selected footage of the highly-anticipated documentary, followed by a live performance at the beautiful Historic Ritz Theatre.
Country Music tells the story of the rise and evolution of this uniquely American art form. The documentary shares the stories of the people who lived, wrote, and performed the songs. Over 80 people were interviewed for the production, each representing a different era or aspect of the story. Country Music will premiere on PBS on Sunday, September 15, 2019 from 8pm - 10pm.
On July 20, 2019, the evening will begin at 7pm with a pre-show by three local musicians. At 8pm, the documentary will begin inside the theatre, followed by a performance by the Edgar Loudermilk Band featuring Jeff Autry at 8:40pm.
This event is free and open to the public. As this special Ida Cox performance will take place at the Ritz Theatre, seating will be limited.
